Prairie schooler exchange round3 from Angela

Coming home from Budapest I was pleasently surprised by this gorgeous pinkeep and a card.
It's stitched by my round 3 partner, Angela. I love it and it will get a special place among my stitcher's collection. Thanks so much Angela for this great exchange piece!
Design stitched from Prairie Schooler book DEF on 28 count white Lugana with recommended threads.

Pink roses

I used this pictures box to make a little gift for a friend. She likes pink and roses so I used this freebie for the stitching piece. It's stitched on 32 count Zweigart using Carrie's Creation Pink Taffy and the House of Embroidery. Happily she liked her gift.

Wish you all a good weekend!

Prairie Schooler Exchange Round 2

This week the lovely bellpull arrived with a card. Isn't gorgeous? After weeks of waiting I did not received the exchange piece from my partner. That's why the "angel" stitcher Shay offered to stitch for me. It's so generous of her and I'm so happy with the gift. Thanks so much, Shay!

LHN alphabet rhyme

When I saw this cute chart of LHN I knew that I'm going to stitch it. Who doesn't know this rhyme? I remember singing it with my children when they were at the primary school. Of course we did it in Dutch. It sounds like this: abcdefg, hijklmnop, qrstuvw, xyz doen ook nog mee. Van abc tot xyz, dat zijn de letters van het alfabet.

Loosely translated:
abcdefg,
hijklmnop,
qrstuvw,
xyz also play.
From abc to xyz,
These are the letters of the alphabet

There are different versions of this rhyme. For framing I used a slate because I think it fits together. Thanks for visiting me and I really appreciate your comments.

This piece is stitched on 36 count ivory Edinburgh linen using the recommended threads.

Framed schoolgirl lessons

This chart of LHN reminds me of my schooltime. The girls and the boys were seperated and went to two different schools. We got craftlesson from a nun. Mostly we have got plain needlecraft. Nowdays the schools hardly have professional teacher for needlecraft because of retrenchment. What a pity!
This piece is stitched on Zweigart vintage linen, 32 count yellow. Using Gloriana silk Arnhem Health. I use bread-board as frame. I think it turns out nicely.

One summer day.....

Sitting in the garden enjoying a cup of Jasmin tea, which I brought from China.

Finishing the schoolgirl lessons from LHN. Stitching on Zweigart vintage yellow using Gloriana silk Arnhem Health.

Watching little creatures, which are flying so fast that it's nearly impossible to catch them for a picture.

The butterflies and bumble bees are busy looking for nectar, flying from flower to flower of the Butterfly-bush or Summer lilac (vlinderstruik). What a wonderful day!
Wishing you a sunny weekend and thanks for visiting me.

Hydrangea's

For a few weeks we had a lot of sunshines so you can see that all kind of hydrangea's are blooming. I think it's easy to take care of them. Sometimes they need a lot of waters. This is Annabelle standing in the frontgarden.

This one is the most difficult of all. It takes time to get it growing but I love the purple hearts with white flowers very much.

Even in the pot and in the shadow the hydrangea gives you beautiful flowers to enjoy.
Where can you find plants so easy as the hydrangea's? You can enjoy them for a long time and even in a vase they're gorgeous.
